    Hi,

The above dishwasher failed to drain the last time it was run so rather than do simple thing and get someone to have a look, I decided to have a go myself. I ended up replacing the inlet value but that hasn’t fixed the issue.

    The symptoms are:
    – Water doesn’t drain
    – If manually drained, (lifting the red switch in the photo) water is pumped out through the waste pipe
    – When turning it back on, no water comes in (hence replacing the inlet valve) and it heats and circulates the little water that was left after draining.

If anyone has any ideas, it would be much appreciated. Thanks

    Hi OllNixon,

Sounds like we have a similar issue with the same machine..

    Did you get it resolved?

    Thanks, Greg

    Hi,

No, I haven’t managed to resolve it yet. I also posted the problem on another forum (http://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/bosch … st-3497698) and there are a few other comments on there but no resolution yet. I suggest you post a reply on there and see if @nijafe got any further.

The two photos appear to show the sump is full of water and that the pressure switch has activated the microswitch. So was it manually filled to achieve that?

Yes, I filled it manually to see if it would drain.

And it drained OK when you pressed the reset buttons did it?

Yes, it did (assuming the reset button is the red switch?)

Nope, but at least the drain pump is OK and not the issue here. (Reset : Pressing two programme buttons together to reset the programme to zero. As shown in user manual).

That aside your problem is that it will not fill, yes? Well it won’t unless you reset the programme so try that next.

Hi Martin, thanks for your help.

Having just reset, the dishwasher drained successfully. I then put it on a pre-rinse and nothing much seemed to happen; it hummed away for a bit but didn’t fill with water and start the rinse.

In that case the circuit to the fill valve or the fill valve itself is faulty (yes I realised you replaced it so the former is the most likely). Any signs of mice activity in there (droppings?) as mice love to chew wires.

No sign of mice. Is there any way to confirm that the issue is with the circuit or do I just have to replace it and hope for the best?

OK so no mice damage. What else? The microswitch (that’s the one on the top not the red lever one) on the fill matrix faulty? The tap not allowing water flow to the valve? The complete pressure chamber (00482936) faulty?……I’m running out of options here….. :rolls:
