Hi all.
Used this forum many times, this time I thought I’d post something where I’ve found the problem myself and may be of some help to others! This dishwasher is now 13 years old, so it’s coming to the point if it’s economic to continue repairs.
The dishwasher would go through a cycle as normal, but at the end the waste pump would run almost continuously. It turned out to be nothing more than a defective
microswitch. This one monitors the level of water in the bottom of the unit by way of a float chamber that actuates a single pole two way switch. One section of the switch was defective. It’s an easy fix, just remove the top cover, then remove the two Torx20 screws, the left side panel can then be removed. The switch is easily visible next to the red float chamber. Replacing the switch was a complete cure.
These machines were subject to safety recall for failure of the control pcb. It’s important that this is done, mine went with a huge bang when it failed! There are lots of other posts on this forum relating to this.
Regards JM.
