ParticipantHi everyone,
I have a problem with my Bosch SGS43C12 dishwasher. It looks like no water is being pumped into the lower spray arm, and so that arm doesn’t spray, and so doesn’t rotate, and items in the lower drawer don’t get cleaned.
I’ve removed the lower spray arm to check for gunk, and it’s clean. It spins freely and easily if I push it round by hand. It’s not fouling on anything or bumping into anything.
The upper spray arm appears to be working fine, and items in the top drawer come out clean. The water heats up ok, the pump seems to be working ok, and the cycle time is normal.
How can I find out what’s wrong?
The machine is 18 months old – will it still be under warranty?
Thanks in advance
JimPS: E-Nr is SGS43C12GB/08, FD number is 8404.

Just for info, this morning the BSH engineer found that the diverter motor wasn’t spinning because the plastic wheel was jammed somehow. So he replaced the whole unit (instantaneous heater and diverter motor). Now seems fine.
😀
This is the second time that this dishwasher has needed a repair under warranty. I’d guess the two trips have cost Bosch more than the entire original purchase price of the machine (£160).

Hmm, I was too hasty with my “seems fine” judgement. The fault isn’t fixed – still the same problem, no water supply to the lower spray arm.
I have to take half a day off work to let an engineer in, so I’m annoyed at the time wasted yesterday. Another service engineer is due next Thursday, hopefully this one will have more of a clue.

Probably find that first problem had damaged PCB, does happen.

Yep you were right gegsy.
The BSH guy came back and decided it needed a new “module” (PCB). He came back again yesterday to fit it (3 visits to fix 1 problem!) and now all is well, the lower spray arm is spinning as it should.
cheers
