ParticipantHI all, this one pumps and fills at the same time during the wash cycle at about 30 mins showing left to go, fill matrix and pressure float assembly has been replaced and transfer pipe to tub is clear and no leaks, I’m thinking it’s a PCB problem but wanted to check first in case I am missing something !!

It could be that the circulating pump impellor is blocked or even more likely that the water point valve system in the heater box is playing up? As once it gets its full compliment of water any potential ‘back-flow’ can trigger the red overfill float so it bounces up and down.
What is the spray arm pressure like? Does is switch from top to bottom spray every 55 seconds OK?
It’s unlikey to be a PCB problem by the way.

Thanks Martin, the red float doesn’t bounce when it empties and fills as I’ve watched it when the machine does this, I didn’t think it was a PCB problem, so do you recommend stripping the wash motor down or replace the heater box, spray arms seem to be rotating ok when it washes

Neither, as long as you know that the pressure to each spray arm is OK and that the water point box operates as per normal there’s no need to go to those lengths. It was just a suggestion on my part as to the likely cause. And if you are sure they are working OK then I too am at a loss as to why it would fill & empty in the way you describe? 😕

Thanks for the help Martin, I will go back and double check what you have suggested, it’s very strange as when it is doing this the timer will not reset and when you open the door the pump is still running like in overfill mode but the red float has not moved !

Ah, bit of extra info from you now eh. 😉
I’ve had similar symptoms such as this in the past where it would’nt reset and found that the drain pump to be the culprit. The pump seems to work OK but it overheats and draws too much current triggering the fault. So, I suggest perhaps you take a closer look at the pump? If it runs hot, then that may be your problem?
Just a thought, and no guarantees from me mind you! 😉 🙂

Well Martin it’s still playing up after I changed the drain pump, only thing left is PCB or heater/diverter assembly, thanks for all your help though appreciate it, doing my head in this one :bang:
