Strange one this. The machine has been in storage for 3 months. It is about 15 months old. When fitted in new house, the plumber didn’t remove the stop on the nipple under the sink. Hence no empty, so removed stop. Now machine will fill to what I presume is it’s safety level, then cycles through pump, then fill, continuously. The active light and check water lights are on even though it is filling ok. The circ motor is free, but does not start. I can empty the DW by setting it to reset, and the pump out at the start of the programme is working. There appears to be some kind of flow switch fitted inline with the inlet valve which I have bridged out and also tried disconnected, but makes no difference either way. I can’t see a pressure switc any where, so assume that it is timed fill. Any ideas pleeeeeez??

Have you checked the hose from the side chamber to the sump?
Sounds like its blocked some overfills before going into the tub.
The other thing is where was it stored?Any sign of mouse activity?

BTW with that FD it will still be under guarantee.

Only if they registered it for the second year

Thanks guys. Yes I have checked all hoses, and no apparent blockages, nor any sign of mouse activity. Customer says not under guarantee. I have arranged to go back for another dabble. Cheers

So why do they tell the customer they have to register it and enclose a reply form for doing so? Is it just so they can pick up the customer and try and sell them an extended warranty?

Exactly. I’ve recently rented out 26 Bosch Wm’s to student accomodation and contacted Bosch to register them. The nice chap there told me not to bother as the only purpose of the registration was to sell stuff to customers but my 2yr guarantee was good.

    Correct bagman 🙂
The only reason for the registration is for the sole purpose of D&G getting hold of your details in order to pester you for extended warranty after the initial 2 year.

You were right in the first place with the flow meter. Measures the amount of water going in and then kicks motor over (or not in this case).

    No pressure s/w fitted.
