ParticipantHi All,
I have this dishwasher.
It is not drying and, I suspect, not heating the water either.
I have managed to remove the control module, which contains two PCB boards.
The larger one I removed and it looks in as new condition (no sign of burning).
The smaller one is more awkward and I could do with three hands! In use, the machine hangs at one minute. If I press reset, it reverts to zero, empties and then stops. This and other comments leads me to believe that the fault lies within the control module.
Is there a way of testing (safely) that the problem is not elsewhere within the heating circuit? It unlikely that the heating element has failed due to corrosion as I always keep the salt reservoir topped up. Does this machine have a diagnostic mode?October 28, 2009 at 8:41 pm #300699nomadPaul
ParticipantFirst things first Michael , whats the water level like when its in action ? It should just about cover the base , reaching the lower edge of the salt pot . Low water levels will stop the appliance from heating. Does it make any funny ‘kerdunking’ noises when its filling up ?
I’d have a look at the left hand side , with the panel off to check for any gunge build-up or blockages in the pressure chamber ( middle and bottom right hand corner as you look at the left hand side.

Hi,
I’ve now checked the heater and it’s reading 23+ Ohms, which I believe is acceptable. Since reassembling the control module, the machine’s behaviour has changed. On both Pre-Wash and Quick Wash, it’s not counting down. I’ve looked at the water chamber and water is flowing through. The float valve in the pressure chamber and at the top of the water chamber both seem to work. The machine is intermittently pumping water into my bucket in a continuous cycle. At first the water was quite cloudy but is now running clear. Any further suggestions would be appreciated. Regards, Michael151.October 31, 2009 at 12:13 pm #300701nomadPaul
ParticipantIf the dishwasher on its fill cycle fills/empties a bit/fills/empties a bit and doesn’t actually start its wash cycle , then the most likely culprit is the flow rate meter – part No: 424099. Ita a smallish white cyclindrical looking object between the inlet hose and water matrix on the left hand side.
If these go wrong , not only will you get a continuous fill/drain cycle on start up but the check water (tap sign) light may appear on the display too.

Hi All,
I’ve just replaced the flow rate meter and have exactly the same symptoms as before. The dishwasher partially fills and then partially empties. The water level inside the machine is just below the coarse food filter (i.e. it looks empty) and not just below the salt filler cap. The water matrix and pressure chamber look clean and water is flowing in through the hose at bottom right of the float chamber. There is no sign of water backing up, indicating a blockage. The LED display does not countdown. For some reason, on Economy the LED displays 199 minutes (and should be circa 156) but on Auto it is correct at 130. It is also correct on Quickwash and Pre-Rinse. I wonder if anyone has any further ideas? (At least the flow meter was only £13.) Regards, Michael. -
