My 11 year old dishwasher tripped the electrics yesterday and made a loud bang when we tried to reset the circuit breaker. There was a slight burning smell but no smoke. Husband has checked the socket and it shows no damage, fuse not burnt out.

No lights show on dishwasher when we plug it in.

Would it be too expensive to repair this? Any advice welcome.

It could well be the mains filter (Part no. 00600233) that has blown. It is located in the panel behind the mains cable going into the back of the appliance. Access via removal of the RHand side panel.

Be sure and unplug before messing in there!!!! :plug:

Many thanks for your advice, it is that, my husband removed it and it is blackened so that was obviously the problem. I am trying to locate this part so that we can get it asap.

Would you be able to help with this?

I would like to see a very big THANK YOU to Martin for his advice with my dishwasher. Ordered the part and my husband fitted it and its now working fine. Wouldn’t have been possible without your help and advice. Many thanks again 🙂 🙂
