Participanton the flightless ones picture , look at the ribbed hose coming out of the bottom right hand corner of the pressure chamber. You may find this blocked up with the gunge .

The area in the picture full of goo, the equivalent area on mine looks ok. But there is a matrix which sends the water around as it comes in, and an area at the top of that looks gooed up. If I could figure out how to , I would post a picture of it. Is it possible to pull the incoming pipes off this matrix to wash it out? They seem to be very firmly fixed (as they would have to be).
Do you think from my description that this iscould be a water issue rather than a knack***d pump issue?[/img]February 7, 2009 at 12:40 pm #276340Penguin45

Ignore the goo in the top of the matrix – it’s irrelevant to your problem. We are both suggesting that the machine is not taking in enough water. The water level should be half way up the salt cap in the base of the machine after the fill sequence completes.
The usual reason for the machine to under fill is either the chamber pictured or the hose coming out of the bottom of it getting partially blocked with sludge.
The matrix will unclip and lift away, the pressure chamber pulls up and off with a bit of a wiggle and the bottom hose will simply pull out sideways. See what’s in there, please.

Hi . Please see image of my layout. Should I need to move the matrix to get at the pressure vessel?

Sorry but I can’t find out how to get a picture on here. The vessel on mine looks clear from the outside at least. On your picture, which part is the salt cap?

I restarted the machine and watched the prseeure vessel carefully. Mine is slightly discoloured, but it doesn’t seem appear from the outside to have any goo in it. At the end of the filling sequence, I would say that the water had reach about 1/4 to 1/3rd full – in other words just above the level of the inlet pipe.
