ParticipantHi,
OK, so I think I’ve worked out that the circulation pump has jammed on my dishwasher. It starts and fills quite happily but then starts buzzing and, though the programme continues, nothing gets washed. The drain pump works fine.
Taking off the side covers I can see the motor and can turn it with a screwdriver against the little fan lugs. But only one way. Turning the other way is impossible.
Starting the machine with the cover off I can see the motor start to turn and then stop and start buzzing.
The question is this. How the heck do I *get* to the blasted pump to try to free it? I’m darned if I can see a way in and it’s driving me potty!
I’m reasonably technically adept but this has got me stumped. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Simon

Before you start sticking screwdrivers in motors, YOU MUST MAKE SURE THE POWER IS OFF. :zap:
If the rotor will only turn one way then you definitely have something stuck in the main pump. This is NOT a job that can be done by an untrained engineer as the whole machine has to be stripped down.
Check Repairs@ or Directories for a UKW repairer in your area.

Well, duh…
No, seriously I should accept that as being good well intentioned advice, thanks. Though I seem to remember saying I was technically competent…

Looks like Mr Bosch Engineer needs to come visit then. Ah well, guess I should kiss bye-bye to the best part of £100 🙁
Cheaper than buying a new one, though 🙂
Thanks again,
Simon

Do check Repairs@ first though. If there’s a UKW listed engineer in your area, they will almost certainly a lot cheaper that Bosch’s own engineers.
Sorry to state the obvious about the power off before investigating, however these pages are viewed by many people, not all are competent.

Yes, my response was tongue in cheek for that reason!
I’ve logged a call with @repair so we’ll have to just hope for the best.
Thanks again for the good (and prompt) advice 🙂
