Hi, I found this site by accident but it looks just the ticket, if you could point me in the right direction I should be rather grateful.

My dishwasher seems to be stuck on the ‘rinse’ cycle. It didn’t give any warning, I just noticed it wasn’t switching off.

I switched off manually (after it had been running for 5 hours) and left it for a while. When I turned back on, it went to the same stage and briefly displayed the letter “F” (presumably for ‘Fault’) in the display panel.

It only starts in the middle of the ‘rinse’ cycle now and would appear that some nasty grey skwirrell has stolen my ‘wash’ and ‘dry’ cycles.

The arms aren’t clogged, and seem to be freely rotating. The drain seems to be clear (except for water that’s waiting to drain). I can’t reset it (using the intensive / eco buttons) as I press them and nothing happens.

I’ve read through the thread’s on this forum and there doesn’t seem to be anything pointing toward a similar problem that might help me. Same for Bosch’s Fault Finding (in case Bosch are reading this).

    Thanks in advance.

First of all you will need to try ‘resetting’ the machine. (Press the 2nd and 4th buttons together for 3 seconds with it switched on) It hopefully will then show ‘0’ in the window and the pump will run for 60 secs.

    Let me know the result!

    Oh dear.
I pressed too hard because they all seem very unresponsive.
Now the second button has broken completely away from the panel and none of the other buttons work at all.
I’ve tried pressing the switch behind with button 4 but it’s not resetting.

    😥

A very common problem with these appliances is no heat, causing the programme to hang. This is usually caused by a dry joint on the printed circuit board.

The broken buttons are Bosch p/no 165246. As you still cannot reset the programme, the tongue which is pushed by the button will probably have broken off the front of the pcb box (you should see a small cranked arm through the hole where the button was). The pcb box is p/no 264946.

You can order them from http://www.bshappliancecare.com

Bear in mind that these buttons are meant to be “Touch Control”, so the lack of response points either the box buttons, or the pcb has failed in some form.

If you’re not sure at this point, it’s time for professional help. Check Directories or Repairs@ for a local UKW engineer.

If you are continuing, pull the plug first. :plug:

Great, thanks for the feedback guys – you’ve been enormously helpful.

I’m done for today but I’ll have a look at the buttons and pcb tomorrow and see how far I can get. Would rather do it myself, if I can (no offence).

I think the tongue is still in place. It’s clicking, but nothing else is. I pressed the button too hard trying to register a click and it’s just hollow behind it so I pushed it into the recess by mistake.
It doesn’t feel like there’s any ‘click’ at all behind the buttons themselves though. It used to register a faint click before.

    Hi
It sounds more like some plastic arms on the cage around the electronics module has snapped off. Although considering the fault you have, I would suggest replacing electronics which come swith new cage, P.no – 264877 @ £83.00 GBP available from http://www.bshappliancecare.com

    Hi guys,
    Thanks for all your help.

I’m trying to use that site but whenever I try to locate any of those part numbers, it just replies, ” Sorry, no results were found for ‘264877’ “, or whichever number I enter.

All I’m doing is entering the part number in the search field. Should I be doing something else as well?

I think you’re putting the info in the model number search area by the sound of it.

On the same page, you should see the shopping basket button, click on that and you can input part numbers directly (scroll to bottom).

    Hope that helps 😀

    Dave.

    Ahhh great, thanks.
    I’ll try that.
(They confused me on the search coz it says description or part number, lol)
    Thanks again.

    Re: Bosch SGS5302GB/09

Why has Gegsy’s post suggesting part no ‘264877’ disappeared?
    Was it incorrect?

I’ve managed to find the shopping basket page, but wherever I put any of the aforementioned part numbers, they all come up negative. Might they have changed them?

All of gegsy’s posts have gone, not just this one.

He had a problem logging in and I had to remove him from the site then put him back again, in the process everything he did was lost 🙁

Entering 264877 works fine for me though.

In the shopping basket, enter the quantity 1 then add 264877 in the “material number” field.

    Re: Bosch SGS5302GB/09

Hi all, thanks again for your help. Just letting you know how things turned out.

Well I had various attempts at repair myself, but was unable to get past a certain point and had to accept that calling the pro’s in was my next step.

Sadly, the verdict was several terminal failures; The heating element, control module, and front facia cover all needed replacing together.

The cost of the parts alone made repair an expensive option. With the cost of call-out and labour added in, then the possibility of another failure in the near future, there was no contest.

New model en route, which cost £10.00 less than repairs and they’re going to take the old one away with ’em.
