ParticipantI’ve read the other forum topics on this subject and cleaned out the sump and checked that the impeller is free to turn, which it is. But it still won’t empty the water out? I’ve blow compressed air into the sump outlet and it comes out of the drain hose so I know there’s no blockage in the outlet pipe. How can I test if it’s the pump US or the circuit that controls the pump, I can’t see how to get to it?
Thanks
Rod

Hi
Impeller should not be totally free, it should “twang” every quarter turn.
You seem to have checked everything else.
What about the physical plumbing the waste house goes into, is it clear ?Greg

Greg,
Yes the impeller does ‘twang’, with the side off the machine I can see through the clear pipe that the waste water is not even getting to the waste outlet pipe?
I can’t see how to get to the pump to test if there is voltage on the motor when it’s emptying, is there a relay that controls the pump motor where I can test?
Thanks
Rod

Confused now. 😕
You can get a blockage in the drain outlet of the water matrix. This is behind the l/h panel. You will see which port it is as the drain hose attaches onto it. Remove that pipe and look carefully for silver paper etc that could obstruct the bore.
Power off before attempting and you will need to drain the matrix down before removing that pipe.
Please do not undertake any live testing as there really is no need. If the pump is pumping you will hear it 😉

Hi Greg
This post was started my dad who’s trying to help me get my dishwasher sorted
I connected the compressor onto location 3 in the picture, when air is blown it is free to flow through to location 2

Part 1 does twang when I turn it by hand

Have you tried putting end of drain hose into bucket and see if it empties.?
That will eliminate the drainage system of the appliance.Greg

Do you mean the hose next to number 2?
Just remove it so that the water drains via gravity?

Yes to the left of 2 but hold it over bucket whilst powering machine into drain to see if it has enough guts for the job. If so, you know the problem lies with plumbing and not the appliance.

Not a drop 🙁
Once filled I can see the water level through the pipe as i’ve marked on the picture so I definatly think a blockage isn’t the prob

Do you know if the machine’s washing cycle is Fill with water – wash – drain – Fill with water – wash – drain?
As it stops washing it has a short period of time where it’s not doing anything, I can hear what sounds like a motor running. Is that likely to be the drain pump?

Dad here,
I’ve suggested he puts the cover back over the impeller and tries again, the pump may not push water without the cover on?

Cover has to be on yes, took that as read as we had moved on from there.

All sorted
I think I must have cleared the blockage earlier on with the compressed air
Would have been sorted a little while back if I had put the cover back over the impeller :rolls:
Thanks for all your help

Nothing more character building than stripping a dishwasher down all Sunday afternoon, it suddenly struck me that he may not have put the cover back on!
Thanks again Greg
