ParticipantHello
I have a Bosch SGS5312GB/12 dishwasher that does not seem to be filling properly. Basically, when I switch it on, water comes out of holes in the rotor arms (if I open the door quickly I can see this before it stops). However, it also seems to be constantly draining the water back out again. Basically it carries on like this forever. It sounds like the drain pump is continually sucking the water back out.
There is also a red dot in the bottom right corner of the led display. Not sure whether this indicates some sort of error code??
Any help much appreciated.
Cheers

Base flooded (remove side panel to check) or pcb ‘s thrown a wobbly.

Thanks for the reply.
I shall have a look this evening. Do I need to remove the entire side panel or just the bottom bit? Also does it matter which side?
If it is flooded, is it just a case of emptying it out and hoping it works ok afterwards?
Cheers

OK – I got both side panels off and there is no water in the base.
Basically it looks like the water is coming into the plastic tank on the left-hand side and then is being immediately pumped back out. A small amount actually makes it to inside the dishwasher. The drain pump keeps going even if I reset the program by holding down the ‘Intensive’ and ‘Eco’ buttons simultaneously.
Is there anything else it could be other than the main pcb (which sounds expensive to replace) such as a sensor/switch that detects when all the water is gone and thus stops the drain pump?
Any help much appreciated.

Hello Tony
It’s quite old – about 7 or 8 years old I would guess, although it had very little use for about 4 or 5 of these. It is a free standing model.

it sounds like the pcb is faulty then if you do remov e the board and inspect it you will sometimes see a burnt out spot which you can solder but thats normaly a heater problem ive had that fault myself a couple of times and i had to change the pcb

Yes I had the heater problem a couple of years ago with this dishwasher and solved it by soldering a small length of wire between the burnt out sections.
I’ll have another look at the pcb to see if there is anything obvious. I just wondered whether there was some sort of sensor that controls the draining operation that may be faulty??

Oh dear!
I assume these pcbs are not easy (impossible??) to diagnose and fix?? Apart from the heater problem that is, which is fairly easy to spot on it.
Thanks all for your help!
