Bosch SGS5312GB/12 problem

Hi all,

This is my first time posting on this forum, so hello. I have a Bosch dishwasher, model shown in subject. When I turn it on it makes a noise as if its going to start its cycle, however it does this for hours and if i dont turn it off it will like that until dooms day, I can hear no water entering into it, i have put water into it and turned it on, the dishwasher drains itself. I have tried pressing the ‘reset’ function, but all it does is show the ‘0’ on the display, and the noise is still there.

Any thoughts?

took the side off today and theres a red lever coming out of the plastic water feed arrangement, when i have it plugged and plumbed in and move this lever the system fills, also When i tilt the dishwasher backwards the dishwasher works, its going through a quick cycle now to see if it completes it.

Why does it do this? anyone experienced something similar?

the dishwasher has leaked into the base and this is the flood protection switch doing exactly what it is designed to do,

repair the leak and all will be ok
