Water not draining away. Checked impellor for blockages – nothing – spins freely. Machine does not even make any noise trying to pump away – any ideas?? New pump? :rolls:

Pump should not spin freely – it should “ping” every quarter revolution when turned by hand……

Remove drain pump (twist fit from underneath – power off!). When the impellor is turned, it should resist, then ping freely over each quarter. If it feels stiff, spongey, gratey it will need to be replaced. Also check that you have a circuit through the coil – approx 190ohms.

If you’re not happy, you’ll need THIS.

    thanks – will try this.

Another question though – sometimes the glasses and mugs from the top shelf have grit in them and on them – never happened with my last dishwasher – any ideas?

Check spray arm jets are clear and that you load plates after they have had a quick swish under the tap.
If it doesnt drain properly then you may have dirty water left in appliance as it refills for rinses.
