The rubbish plastic based Bosch dishwasher, leaking all around the joint between the stainless tub and the plastic base, anyone ever atttempted a repair?

Hi Eastlmark,

I have taken out loads of the tubs to replace the heaters.
If you use the Search facility, someone here has listed here how to remove the tub screw by screw.

Also are you sure its the tub seal leaking?, I don’t think I have never seen one leak?

thanks but your looking at the wrong model , its the one that you dont have to strip out to change the heater, with the pastic tub, right?

I have had one in over 4 yrs….and it was brand new so e swapped it out. Can’t say i’ve ever heard of a repair from any of our engineers .

Good! thanks Paul, didnt fancy the job myself! there is no seal showing on the parts diagram so I assume its just bonded. Cannot be the only one though, there is a white build up of grunge all along the joint and the floor is rotten underneath so I reckon it could have been leaking from day 1. the leak falls straight on the floor off the concrete weight at the back so by-passing the drip tray and float. not yet 4 years old….Bosch quality product.

I’ve done a couple of these Bosch dishwasher reseal jobs. Fiddly, but possible. Several attempts at the first one, the second one went without a hitch.
Remove the side panels and the clip holding the riser pipe to the back panel of the tub. Undo the front 2 screws (either side) and the rear screws (2). Then gently lift the tub off the base. I used 2 wallpaper scrapers to assist – as I separated the parts, I pushed a scraper in the slot and worked my way from front to back. Lift the tub clear. Clean off the sealant.
Clear sealant from the channel in the base. It is like chewing gum so it’s a bit fiddly. Once done, fill the channel with sanitary grade silicone. Wait for it to tack slightly (1/4 – 1/2 hr) then evenly reseat the tub onto the base and screw in place immediately. Reassemble and leave overnight to cure. I ran my first attempt too soon and it ruined the job.
Next day you can safely add some more silicone to anywhere that looks thin.

Patience tester……… but possible.:wink:

Wrong sealent used in production. Only suffered only certain fd dates

After doing all that matey how long before the corrosive action of the detergent tabs gets to work on all your hard work? Weeks or months?
