This machine is the type with the plastic sump and tray with the stainless steel cabinet “sat” on top. All secured by 4 screws; one at each corner.
Water leaks from between the plastic rim and the stainless cabinet. I have repaired it once before with the silicone that you’d normally use for bonding an oven door glass. Worked fine for 2 months. Now it’s leaking again.
There seems to be a seal (white neoprene) in the slot that the cabinet sits in. There is no mention of this seal on the BSH site. So the best I can do is bond it together again and hope. :rolls:
Anyone had this problem and know how to remedy it? I’ve sealed it with debor this time as it is a tad more flexible. But I’m not convinced it’ll last. Not a good design…….. 👿
Oh….. one of them. I had one which leaked repeatedly from the seam. Took the top half off in the end and found a tiny kink in the edge. Straightened it, filled the channel with silicon goo and that seemed to do the trick.
Either that, or the customer took pity on me and replaced it – I haven’t been back.
Thanks, Chris!
It’s just finished it’s third cycle in the workshop – no leaks yet……..
But…I am inclined to “kitchen sink” and strip it right down and do it again. I’m just not convinced yet.
Glad someone else has had this fault!! 😉
