Keymasterok i have a fairly new bosch maxx sgs53co2 dishwasher and ive had the bosch engineer out 3 times already to try and repair so im at my ends wit now!! … ohh…..
basically it starts up on active as normal, but as it gets near end of full programme it tends to get stuck and stays on active as if the programs stuck etc, one time it shorted my electrics out downstairs too!
so as its still under 3 year warranty and ive had it over a year or so, ive called bosch out to it 3 times now and the guy turns up and says “cant see anything wrong m8” , it seems as if we leave it turned off for while too it works later etc…i have mislaid the manual so not sure if im resetting it right too, i press reset button for 3 secs til flashes and then it goes onto end then back to on active mode .. is this right ?
please someone help me as its driving me nuts (and the missus too! lol)
this intermittently happens , i.e it will work ok for say week or so but then after that tends to keep getting stuck at end of cycle.tried other wash programmes and same happens too.
any ideas lads ?help!!!!!!!!

When it stops does it still have water in it as it sounds like an intermittent drain pump problem to me ?
That doesn’t explain the “shorting your electrics” though, but as it only happened once it could be coincidental.

sometimes it does, other times not…..
if it leaves water its only a small amount just higher than drain area.
it still gets stuck though when no water in too, seems as if the dryer part of cycle just goes on and on all time – wont finish cycle.
any helps great dave m8.
thanks lot.August 8, 2005 at 10:41 pm #144284admin

Yes that’s correct!
Shorting out the electrics as Dave picked up on is a little worrying and my only thought in that regard would be a faulty Heater Unit? 😕

Does it appear to stick on the drain cycle? Is the pump making a continuous noise? Does it smell a little? Does the pump continue to run even through you’ve opened the door (usually a bad sign as these things should stop when you open doors.) And, this is the clincher, if you pull it out and tip it up a little, does water end up on your floor?
If the answer is YES, then welcome to the club! If not, I don’t have a scooby, but here’s what I know.
After ours started having the above complaint we called out the British Gas Engineer. (Yes I know, but after paying us for a new Washing Machine we thought we had better stay with their Kitchen Appliance cover for a while!)
He knew what the cause was straight away. The Bosch’s are fitted with ‘Aqua Stop!’ If the Dishwasher develops a leak then it fills up the metal base which has a Styrofoam float in it. This hits a sensor which permenantly turns the pump on until the water evaporates for it stop, or you turn it off. The up-shot is; it won’t flood your kitchen. The down-shot is; it’s knackard.
After 3 calls out of the engineer, and one from Bosch (all paid for by BG) the Bosch engineer pointed out that the Heater Block (right at the bottom of the washer) had become loose and pulled one of the water pipes off. Hence the leak. The problem can not be fixed as the Heater Block is supposed to be held in place by a ledge on the casting of the machine itself. If it breaks, then it’s a new machine. Word of extra caution, the Bosch engineer said that about half of this model have this fault, and I rekon that if you have your machine next to something violent like a Washing Machine, then it will help cause this problem.
The ‘White Box’ mentioned earlier is indeed the Heater Unit, the engineer tryed changing ours. Shorting the mains is a new one on me, but the motor is not designed to run for hours, and so could overheat. Or the Water has got into the heater unit and shorted the power from there (maybe why they swaped out the unit).
There, I have nothing else to offer. Do tell if it helps!

There is a modification kit available for snapped heater clip.
Definately not a scrapper. 😆
