Sorry felt the need give an update…

‘:?’ More erratic machine behaviour… Came home to find my wife had loaded and put the machine on and I watched it run right to the end of the cycle no problems – dishes clean, dried, machine fully drained… reloaded with more dishes and started again. Ran for 3 minutes then jumped to “0 mins” opened and started again programme began at “85 mins” ran for 1 minute then blank display no indicators… another door open and restart “34 mins”… next jumped to “0 mins” but machine kept running but time left not changing…

    mind of it’s own?

    any clues

    Couple of things to consider.

1/ Heater faults throw the computer, especially earth leaks.
2/ Sludging issues cause the machine to under-fill, which can cause the heater not to work correctly, which will throw the computer.
3/ The computer boards do just fail, simple fact.

Time to get the covers off and get the test meter out. Stay safe, power off first.

    Thank you…

    Firstly
Before I take the sides off is there anything to investigate in the door… I mentioned a kind of solenoid clicking noise (in my original post) which can be heard when the machine won’t start or if it has jumped to “0” then on/off is pressed to cause a restart… typically 2 or 3 clicks can be heard then we either have lift off or the machine display blacks out….

    Secondly
I picked up from another post that holding program buttons 2 and 4 (left to right) causes the machine to drain. this has been useful particularly when it has stopped mid cycle… are the any other magic combinations that would help in testing/diagnosis… a Bosch machine

    With thanks
