Bosch SGS6612GB/12 – Not washing

Our Bosch SGS6612GB/12 has recently stopped washing.

I’ve had a read around the forum and followed some of the advice e.g. take the left side panel off and clean the chamber, also cleaned the pipe from the chamber but it doesn’t appear to have made a difference (neither were particularly gunky).

When trying to start a wash, it starts by pumping out, then filling the matrix, when the matrix is full it empties down through the chamber and then pretty nothing much happens – the timer counts down and there’s the odd sound of a solenoid (?) but no water inside the machine

There was some water in the base of the dishwasher but not enough to trigger the float switch.

Next step is to get one of the local repair guys out but anyone have any ideas what’s likely to have failed?

Take the side panel off the the other side to reveal motor. With the power off, check whether the motor is free to turn.

Thanks for your help

The motor wasn’t free to turn but with a little pressure it freed it up and now it turns and the dishwasher washes.

The motor itself has some deposits on it – should I be concerned about these or is it just what happens over time?
