    Hi,
So, our little Bosch dishwasher has never given us a bit of trouble… until today…

The waste disposal got jammed which meant that :

    a) water backed up into the dishwasher and
    b) when I undid the waste disposal to get the carrot out a bit of water got under the cabinets and possibly under the DW.

    That’s the background.

Now when I turn the DW on it sounds like it’s trying to pump out or in (it does this with the door open, which is new!) but it never starts a cycle and no water gets in (and the plates only get clean if I take em out and wash em by hand).

From what I’ve read this sounds like the anti-flood thingy has been tripped because of my fun with the waste disposal.

The question is: what can I do about this? Can I get at the anti-flood thingy from inside the DW? I don’t have access to any part of the DW except the inside bc of the way the clowns who originally installed it, installed it (I’d have to rip out large chunks of kitchen – don’t ask!).

Is my diagnosis correct – the anti flood thing – and can I make it better myself, or do I need someone who knows what they are doing?

    Thanks in advance,
    DjP

Sounds like flood protection activated – water in the undertray.

To deal with in situ…….. Remove decor door, kitchen plinth, then face plate below the door. This will give you limited access to the undertray. You can try sponging out any water, or use a skinny bit of tubing to try and syphon the water out.

    Power off, of course.
