Bosch SGV5303GB/13 – displays F, water not heating

We tried to start a wash last night but the pump didn’t start; instead the washer just hummed. Eventually, the display panel showed F.

We tried it again this morning – it still displays F but this time it did start, although it did not heat the water and the detergent dispenser failed to open during the cycle.

The manual says that F means either the tap is not turned on (it is) or excess pressure has caused the Aquastop to activate. The weird thing is that water is getting through to the machine.

I guess I’ll have to bite the bullet and pull out the washer to vent the Aquastop, but I’d be grateful for any advice.

Is it draining out OK, have you checked if the drain pump/sump are clean?

I checked the filters but not the drainage pump itself. It’s possible that something has got past the filters, so I’ll dig out the Torx T20 when I get home and check the pump.

Venting the Aquastop has cured the problem – shame I have to take the washer out to get to it …
