Bosch SGV53E43 keeps draining then refilling

I have got a Bosch SGV53E43GB which is about 2-3 years old. It’s been great until now. Last night I put it on a wash cycle and left it. When I came back into the Kitchen about 2 hours later it was still running which I thought was odd. When I listened to it for a minute I noticed that it was filling then draining repeatedly about every 30 seconds.

I opened it and noticed the tap light was lit. I reset the machine and checked the filter in the top of the Aquastop like the manual says. No effect. I also cleaned out the filter and removed the pump cover and checked for problems. Nothing there either.

The machine empties itself when reset, and seems to fill up OK to begin with, but somewhere in between it’s getting lost.

Any ideas?

Yes, the Impellor jug needs replacing.

Thanks Martin. Is it worth removing the one which is in there and giving it a clean – ie do they get blocked or is it a common part to fail?

Nope, replacing it the only cure.

OK thanks very much. Any tips on what not to do (apart from the obvious disconnecting everything!) and any idea where I can get one please?

Before disconnecting the PVC hoses it is best to warm them using a hand held hair dryer. Take note of the correct orientation of the Impellor jug before fitting. A replacement can be purchased HERE
