    Hi,
This dishwasher is exhibiting the classic sympoms of enless cycles, no heat, poor rinsing. From what I’ve read so far, it souds like the control panel. Does anyone know how to access this on a fully integrated machine? Is it a replacement job I could do myself, or would it be better to get a Bosch man in? Manufacturer repairs are almost always horrendously expensive so if there’s any alternative….
I’s only about 3 or 4 years old so I’m reluctant to get a new one, although there’s always the thought that a new one might be better value than a patch up.

    Any thoughts?
Thanks for any advive in advance

    Steve.

No heat can be caused by a problem with the module (it’s in the top of the door). It’s far more common for the machine not to heat due to underfilling issues or element failure. In these instances, the machine will have to come out for proper access.

Power off before removing any panel.

    Thanks.
So I really need to get a Bosch man in to to a proper diagnosis?
    Are they expensive to pay?

If you put your postcode into the Repairs@ module on the left, you will be able to find an independent engineer in your area.

Don’t know what BSHs callout is, sorry.

    Re: Bosch SGV53EO3GB/56 Problem

Is replacing the module something I could do myself?
I’ve been unable to get a response from Bosch service centre so, if possible, I’d quite like to just order a part and do it myself.
    Any advice would be appreciated..

    Thanks,
    Steve.

Steve , as Penguin has stated , the module problem is the LEAST likely of the 3 main possible reasons.
Lack of water is prob number 1 reason
Open circuit heater element number 2
    Module track/relay prob – distant 3rd

    Re: Bosch SGV53EO3GB/56 Problem

    Thanks,
So what can I do to check for a problem leading to lack of water or heating?
When I open the machine in the morning (after its 5-6 hour cycle) the dishes are fairly wet, and the plates have a little white deposit on the lower edges… as does some of the cutlery.
    Thanks.

i would look at low water levels first – when you first switch the machine on and it begins to fill , do you hear any strange ‘kerdunk’ noises and maybe a knocking seemingly coming through your water pipes? If yes , this could indicate a blocked side water matrix and hose.
You would need to get the appliance out of its cupboard and then remove the left hand side panel to investigate.

There are a couple of threads on here concerning the problem , one with some photo’s of what you should be looking for.

Power off before attempting this .

    Re: Bosch SGV53EO3GB/56 Problem

No, there’s none of that sort of thing. It seems to start ok, but just goes on for hours. You can hear the water being sprayed and everything, and the dishes do (eventually) come out clean (apart from the white deposits).

So it looks like maybe the heater is done? Could I replace this myself do you think? I really want to get this resolved soon… I can’t afford a new machine.

Have you actually got the screwdrivers out and inspected anything yet? What’s the resistance reading through the heater? Is the pcb charred in anyway?

How can we answer the question? This is a pro-active thing………

    Re: Bosch SGV53EO3GB/56 Problem

My question is, how difficult a job would it be to replace the heating element myself and how much roughly do they cost? I’ve never done anything like this before and without knowing what I’m doing or getting advice from those that do, it’s difficult to be pro-active.
    Thanks.
