ParticipantWe noticed recently that after a wash the dishes were not as clean as usual. When I checked a wash, and opened the door several times during the cycle the water was cold.
So after consulting the forum here, I stripped down the machine, and checked the heater element which read about 24 ohms. I cleaned the sump hose, which just had a little gunge but not very much. The water control unit on the lh side looks really clean.
What else might it be ?

I have removed the top section of the door which contains the pcb in a white plastic box, the on off switch and the controls along the top edge. But I’m puzzled how to remove the pcb and it’s box from this piece. I can see two tabs that sort of hold the box/pcb block in place and it looks like I should be able to pull it down, after releasing the two tabs and remove it in one piece ? But I’ve tried and it seems very tight. Am I missing a further fixing here or do I just need to use brute force ?

I left the pcb in place, but separated the white plastic shell around the pcb and could see a pin near the red/white power connector had overheated and become unsoldered, so I remade the joint. I’m waiting for a wash cycle to see if this has helped.

That seemed to have fixed the problem for now. I guess a part is under rated on that control board !
Thanks for the help.October 4, 2009 at 5:49 pm #298595washermanuk
