Bosch SKT 2022 does not wash

Hi,

I hope someone can help me getting a Bosch SKT 2022GB dishwasher to work again. It’s an old table top model (which looks similar to the current SKT5102).

It has stopped washing. In other words, after opening the door when the washing cycle has finished, the the plates are dry and still dirty. The spray arm has not moved.

I have already checked the following:
– Water supply is OK and I can hear it filling and it discharges water from the drain hose.
– Filters are clear.
– Spray arm is not blocked and is free to rotate.
– I have read the instruction manual 😉
– I have searched these forums but have not found any applicable threads.

Can anyone give some advice on how to fix this, please? I know it’s old but I am not in a position to replace it at the moment. I am reasonably competent to repair things but I do not have a detailed knowledge of the workings of this dishwasher.

Hi
Its possible that the wash pump has seized or jammed in someway.
With the applianced unplugged, you will need to re move that pump and check for free movement and debris.

I guess the main circulating pump is not working after it has filled then? 5 minutes into any wash cycle and by then the machine should have filled and be slooshing away merrily. I guess that’s not the case then?

Could be expensive to change the motor I’m afraid. 😥

I’ve removed the cover and run the short programme. I can see that the circulating pump is spinning, but the machine is still not working. There is also a reservior which is filling prior to the pump starting. From the parts diagrams it is not obvious to me what bit does what.

I don’t have any torx screwdriver bits so I can’t remove the pump.

If there is water in the tub whilst the circulating pump is ‘spinning’ then it should work. What may have happened is that the drive shaft to the impellor has rusted and broken? Is there signs of leakage under the motor?

Water inlet matrix and salt ion exchanger unit, the water flows through there prior to entering the tub. No water in tub and it won’t work anyway! 😉

Impellors disintegrate on these – motor whirs round but nothing happens………

A small amount of water gradually collects in the tub during the first 5-10 minutes. It rapidly drains away later. The pump is spinning.

There’s no sign of leakage under the unit.

I must get around to buying some Torx bits – I’ve been meaning to for ages 😉

Order up p/no 065550 – impellor – from spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk (about £9 plus gubbins). It’ll take a day or two to come, which will give you time to get some Torx bits. 😀
