Before I start and dismantle this compact dishwasher, any clues as to what to look for as it’s not heating the water
– apart from that, everything else works, it fills, it drains etc.
Any idea of the approximate resistance for the element?
Any assistance gratefully received!February 27, 2008 at 8:02 pm #244364Penguin45

Ah, the little table top machine. Following usual Bosch practice, the heater is a box assembly, with a thermostat and pressure switch. Any of those components could be faulty, although the more usual fault is insufficient circulation due to a damaged impellor on the pump.

not sure if it is the same internally as my larger Bosch SGS5338gb/12 but the heater checked out ok and the problem was a lack of supply voltage. This I traced to a dry joint on one of the relays on the control board, repaired it and it’s lasted 3 years (though the rest of the machine is a bit tired now)

Very good. The SKT machines are mechanical timer controlled machine and share no components with the the SGS series of full sized appliances, The dry joint problem on the PCB controlled machines is covered extensively throughout this forum.

Hi
These tabletop models aren’t geared to use tablets if thats what you are using, for one they don’t fit and two they are way too much detergent for the little fellow.
If used you will end up with a lot of froth but not enough water to activate safety switch on heater thus giving no heat 😀

OK, now I’m baffled…………..
Took the cover off, checked there were no loose or chafed wires, checked the resistance of the element (27.5 ohms), reassembled the machine and now it’s working perfectly!
Only thing I could see was a little discolouration on the terminals of the heater.
Would a tiny bit of oxidization on a terminal be enough to cause the fault?p.s. Gegsy, I use Finish powder and use half the measure as per the Bosch instructions.
