    Hi,
I have a Bosch SKT5102 tabletop dishwasher, and I noticed today it was making strange noises, low pitch whiney type. Since we dont have plumbing in our kitchen (old house) we use a box to store and chuck the drained water, but today we (luckily!) noticed it was draining far more than usual. It normally takes 4 loads to fill the box but today I had to stop it when it was full, so at least 4x usual water used, if not never ending!
I don’t have the manual and Bosch helpfully don’t give an english version (people have tried to translate other languages with limited success).
Any ideas what would cause a dishwasher to use and drain vastly more water than usual? Any help/info is greatly appreciated, thanks.

    Hi,

Not sure on your model, we had a old Hotpoint tabletop DW -bosch design. If the drain hose was too low at the back the water just ran away, then the machine would keep filling. Try pulling the drain hose up at the back and tie it up. Worth a try,

    Graeme

Thanks for the quick response and info.

I’ve ran the machine whilst observing it, and it appears the problem is at the start of a cycle (Eco/Delicate/etc), where it gets stuck in a loop where I can hear the sound of running water, a low level hum, for approx 20-30 seconds, then it drains (quite bubbly) for just a second or two, then keeps repeating until I force the dial forward a notch.
Im thinking it could perhaps be the dial getting stuck, but it’s odd it does it at the start of the Eco and Delicate cycles, and rest seems to run fine.
