Hi, my dishwasher has just started to develop a loud noise which I can only assume is a water release valve. The noise happens when the machine has just started a program, it sounds like it fills up with water and then once full, a noise (which sounds like a valve opening) occurs and then the dishwasher does it’s cycle. This noise has always happened since purchase and everything else works great but it has become much louder making me believe something is on its way out. The noise is just for a split second at the start of the program.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

If it is a high pitched momentary ‘squeal’ then that will likely be the carbon faced water seal on the circulating pump. That does not indicate a problem and is commonplace.

If the sound relates to it filling with water however it could indicate your water pressure is a little too high and closing the stoptap slightly will reduce that noise.

Whatever the problem may be I wouldn’t worry too much about it at this stage. If it works OK – leave well alone is the way forward. 😉

Ah ok thanks for that, it does seem to be working ok apart from that.
It’s not a squeel but more of a pop, like a hard ball being dropped on a hard surface. It’s always been there, just is a lot louder.

You got me there, I haven’t a clue what that could be lest you’re talking about the dispenser trap door releasing during the main wash maybe? 😕

Yea that’s the sort of sound it is actually, but it can’t be that as it’s become a lot louder and the dispenser lid is in perfect working order. Very good guess though!
    I appreciate your help!
