    Hi everybody,

I have a problem with my Bosch dishwasher. The program runs fine until the drain sequence, although there’s a slight burnt smell in the kitchen, but no smoke or anything. I can hear the relays clicking in when the drain pump is supposed to run, but it doesn’t start. All I can hear is a slight buzzing sound like a powered transformer. I have to reset it every time, and the machine will be full of water.

I’ve taken off both side panels and looked around, but I can’t see anything abnormal. I’ve checked the drain line and it flows perfectly.

The burnt smell kinda worries me. The smell is like (unfortunatly I suppose) when you overload an electric motor.

What do you guys think? I suppose it is most likely to be the drain pump, but maybe it could be some sort of other eletrical problem?

    Thanks

I am guessing from your username and IP address that you are posting from Norway.

The drain pump on this is easy to access.

Remove the mains plug, carefully lie the machine on its back and remove the lower base plate.

You should be able to identify the small drain pump. Protect the other components with a towel and release the pump body. It is a twist off pump, you have to depress a small lug to allow you to twist it.

When refitting the base make sure the polystyrene float goes back in its correct position.
