ParticipantBosch SL15K1B shows flashing active light (salt light is on but has salt) but will not start. Reset 3 seconds has no effect and ensuring door is closed has no effect.
Lifting float will trigger pump.
Any suggestions before I pull the machine out from under counter ?

What is an SL15K1B ?
Not a number we recognise here in the UK for a dishwasher. Can you not find a number beginning ENr ?

Thank you for the response: Other numbers are :
SG14 3E05 GB/08
FD 8406 00041That is all the numbers and why Bosch manage to screen print them to be so faint and disappearing is hard to fathom !

That’s the one! Thanks!
When you do the 3second ‘reset’ can you hear the drain pump running?

No. But pump will run when you lift the internal float ?

Hmmmm? In that case I fear the control unit (aka PCB/Module) is at fault. 🙁

I suspect the same but would being uncertain how the logic on the board works I would like to verify if the Aquastop valve is working. Is there a particular way ? other than pull it out, hose wiring white connector block and all then put a meter across it ?

Yes meter across the two terminals would confirm if the coil is OK. But referring back to the not resetting problem, and because it doesn’t reset, can only be that the PCB is the main problem. After all it should drain at the start of any and all programmes and should do when reset is selected. The fact it doesn’t yet the pump works when you left the domed float confirms my diagnosis.
Rather than wasting time checking the aqua stop, power disconnected, take a close inspection of the PCB instead and look closely for surface component damage. 😉

Thank you. Most helpful. I have looked at the board no obvious signs of major component failure(brown resistors, blown capacitors or melted tracks). Can you advise on good source for these boards ?

Loooked at cost so last question : How certain is it the control module ? Is there any service available that could verify the suspect control module is faulty ?

Not that I’m aware of, if the control module is faulty it cannot interrogate itself to confirm that. If I were to make a judgement based on the information gleaned from you so far then I would say it needs replacing.

ParticipantBosch SG143E05GB reset after 3 secs fails
Raised this a day ago with your appliance master where it was concluded the control board was faulty and about £100 total to replace. Took a second look by taking off the control panel, springing off the SS panel with its surrounding bezel, temporarly re-fitting the metal assembly that holds the control module, closing the door. Noted there was a second switch beside the “reset” switch but this does not show when normally fully assembled. Turned power on at socket and pressed both switches together(the program dial position at OFF) and hey presto the machine came back to life. Machine has run correctly since and I’ve still got my £100 !Above is an image of the SS panel as normaly seen. Below it is the control module hidden behind. Arrows showing the second switch(2).
NOTE WELL: there is mains within the exposed control box so only press the two plastic levers that drive the switches. -
