I rarely touch dishwashers because I don’t do integrated ones.

I would appreciate some guidance on how to work on this model.

Customer reports no heat and cycles taking forever. I have checked continuity and insulation of heater and that looks fine. Everything else is practically impossible to get to, so couldn’t check the thermostat. Is there a way to lift the tub? Any other possible cause of no heat?

    It drains ok.

    Many thanks!

The first thing I would do is check to see if the this on Bosch Dishwasher recall list. Your model number is on there but dates are important, FD7901 to FD8504.

If it’s within the date range get Bosch out. I’ve had a couple Bosch (and badged as Hotpoint) with various issues…mostly solved by Bosch replacing the control board.

part of the mod is to add an external relay to control the heater as the original board had a tendancy to blow tracks by the heater relay
so open the timer and look for track damage by the relay if no external relay is found

Spot on advice RocketMan. It turns out to be one of the machines affected. Customer now trying to contact Bosch.
I knew about the Whirlpool recall website, this one is potentially much better.

Thanks Dave, if he doesn’t manage to get anywhere with Bosch, I will have a look at the board unless he decides to buy a new one.
