ParticipantMy trusty Bosch dishwasher has developed a problem and I would really appreciate it if anyone could give me some advice. I’ve done a lot of online searching but haven’t yet come across anyone having a similar problem with this model. (Sorry in advance for the long post 🙁 )
The dishwasher is 10-11 years old and is an integrated slimline one. Model number SVP4503GB/06. Up until a few days ago it was working just fine! It is also connected up to a waste disposal unit.
A few days ago, I started washing on my normal program (which normally lasts about an hour). However, the dishwasher just seemed to stop making any noise about half way through the cycle. I left it for a bit, then opened the door, and found a huge puddle of water inside the dishwasher. (I took the filters out and they were clean of debris).
I scooped out all the water and tried running a program again. The dishwasher started just fine, but stopped again at the same point, with another puddle of water.
At this point I thought it may be a blockage in a pipe somewhere. I don’t have ready access to the pipes, but I noticed that the level of water inside the dishwasher moved whenever I moved the plug for the waste disposal unit up and down- I’m probably wrong in thinking this – but does the fact that the level of water moved like this indicate that there may not be a block in a pipe somewhere?
I’ve read that it is possible to remove the cover to the drain pump to check for debris that might be preventing the pump from working. At the bottom of the dishwasher (when the filters are removed) there is a round plastic bowl shaped “thing” which is screwed in with 3 screws, and there is a small plastic grid where water should drain. I’m just wondering if this is the elusive drain pump cover, and if so, am I safe to remove this to see if there is anything caught? I’ve looked at diagrams of the dishwasher from the Bosch site, but haven’t had any joy.
I don’t want to make the fault any worse, but would like to have a go before calling an engineer out (my boiler has a fault too so that is a priority cash wise atm).
Any ideas would be welcome 🙂

unplug the dishwaher take out the machine from its hole and tilt back, remove bottom cover and yoyu will see the drain pump which is probably blocked.
