Hello, the pump on this machine has stopped working – what is the best fault-finding procedure? Could it be a fuse on the electric supply, a blockage?, something else? Or is it simply likely to be a blown pump motor?
I can’t find a source for replacement pump for this model dishwasher (if that’s the actual fault) – where to go?
Any help greatly appreciated…
Thanks Robin
Single most likely cause of failure is wiring breaking in the pivot of the door.
If the motor has failed, it’s now over £200 to replace, so keep your fingers crossed.
Diagrams and parts can be found on http://www.bshcustomerservice.com – follow the links into the eShop facility. You will need the full model number – SMS4452GB/–.
Hi, thank you for replying: I’m pasting in the full product code to the website you’ve quoted but not getting any listing. Also tried sms on it’s own to get the full list, but 4452 didn’t come up in the list.
I’ve now looked at the wiring loom in the door hinge, but can’t see any failings …
Power off, side panels off, see if the motor is actually free to turn. This is a relay start motor, it’s pretty elderly now, so may not be switching. If it isn’t, the motor may make a faint humming noise if you listen carefully.
