I wonder why you would need one as they are normally very reliable?

However you can get a replacement via this link: http://www.bshappliancecare.co.uk

    Hi Martin

I have stripped the controller down. The motor is powering up ok, but but instead of spinning cleanly, stops starts and vibrates. I can only assume it is knackered….

You are probably right in your assumption then 🙁

Some of the little drive motor cogs are known to slip down the shaft and not engage with the nylon gearing on the timer body. That may be a thing to check, you can also buy the Timer Drive Motor as a seperate item.

And also there is a few companies around the UK that recon these timers 😀

What is the full Enr number of your dishwasher (including the 4 digit FD number)

The complete Timer Assembly(including Drive Motor) is Part No 086453 @ £109.28 and the Timer Drive Motor is Part No 140472 @ £29.73. available via the link I gave earlier…OR….

Beyond that you can get the Timer reconditioned/repaired (via this link) http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … ink&cid=34

Look under EMW or Quality Electronic Repairs 😉

    Thanks for your excellent advice.
Got timer drive motor from http://www.bshappliancecare.co.uk/ arrived overnight. (Old part had stripped its gearing)

However ( you knew I was going to say that) controller seems fine, but no water enters machine. If I provide a bucket of water at the appropriate time, rinse cycle works fine (ie rises pumps out finishes etc).

There is mains voltage getting to the water valve, but its resistance is infinite…

So – my question is – can a failing timer drive motor cause the valve to burn out? The machine ran for about 3 hours when the failure occurred.

Thanks again for your help – the machine has been with us from new – I would like to get it working again.

Ps sorry if this is now in the wrong forum

The Inlet/Safety Valve trouble then most likely (nothing to do with Timer)
