Bosch SMS 903 Dishwasher not using salt

I haven’t had to replace the salt in my dishwasher for ages. I keep checking the container but the same amount of salt is still in there.

When I open the salt container cap the water comes out.

I took the side panel off and set it to do a quick wash.

The 2 pipes going to the salt regulator never get any fluid inthem.

Thinking the salt regulator was blocked I disconnected the pies and did another wash. Stll no joy.The water just doesn’t get to these tubes.

I can see plently of water swishing around in the salt container and can see activity in the softener compartment.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regret SMS903 is not a valid model number – please recheck.
Initial thought would be some sort of solenoid failure on the fill matrix.

The operating booklet says if I open the door I should see an FD number and a machine no. but I can’t see anything.

The label has fallen off then I expect 🙂

It should also be on the rear of the appliance 😉

There’s absolutley no ID anywhere on the thing.

Anyway following Penguin’s hint I found that the solenoid on the bottom of the salt/softener container is open circuit.

I’ve now got to try and get a replacement.

If the hose that passes across the salt valve is blue in colour, then you need a 051835 Salt Valve. 😉 (‘Cos I suspect the machine is a SMS6032 series)

Yes the hose is blue. I will be emailing Dave.

Some outfit said I could only buy the whole container assembly and needed all the exact model nos. which of course I don’t have.

Having done a bit of research on the net I have determined that it is a SMS6032 series.
