i have a bosch sms40a08gb/03 dishwasher with a no heat fault.

Its a style of design with the small circulation and motor. the heater is mounted on the front of the pump and looks like it has sensor integrated into it.

the heater shows 1.560 resistance and 0.950 to earth when meter set to 2m homs and otherwise 0 when set to any other setting.

when in the heating phase of the cycle the pcb shows 0v from live to neutral of the heater terminals but 100v to from live to earth.

i haven’t had a massive amount of experience with the new design of bosh but it seems like the heater is not working as there is no wont show any circuits other then on 2 homs. also was wondering if is met to be showing 100v to earth only?

    any help would be appreciated

If you are getting 0.95 Meg Ohms on an insulation test of the heater then it is a failure as it needs to be greater than 1 Meg Ohm.

If you are getting your 1.56 on the Meg Ohms scale then that means that it is 1, 560, 000Ohms resistance which would make it a 0.00015 Watt heater – in other words as good as non-exsistant. I am not sure what wattage the heater should be but if I was to assume approx 2000Watts then it should be about 26 Ohms.

The 100V to earth may not be a problem depending on if the heater is ok or not.
