do bosch have a door latch kit or mod that stops the catch remaining in the closed position when the door is open

why whats the problem you are having

the catch on this does not have an open or closed position.

when you open the door the catch stays in the closed position so you can`t shut the door the next time I have changed the latch but it still seems to do it.at first I thought that the top rail was bending allowing the catch to jump over the hole in the door.

only really looked how these catches work today did not know they had an open and closed position

it takes a fair amount of force on the lock finger to reset it in the open position. the only things I can see that would affect it are

1 damage to the stainless door where the lock engages allowing the finger to slip over the steel

2 door too low or top bowed up

have taken a pic of one I have here with a tape measure in so you can see if yours is the same

Ive been out to a few that have done this. I just push the catch back in and ive never been back. On one occasion the dishwasher was badly fitted and out of square but I couldn’t see anything wrong with the others.
