ParticipantHello guys!
I’m hoping you can help with my Bosch Classixx sms40c02GB which is presenting an E25 error mid-cycle.
I understand this to be a drainage issue so I’ve done the following so far:
- Cleared out the drainage pipe and waste pipes behind the machine (nothing crazy, but definitely needed a clean!)[/*:m:7hsqvmnt]
- Inspected the sump from inside the machine, I removed the white impeller cover and ensured there was no grit or glass etc (all clear).[/*:m:7hsqvmnt]
- Dismantled the machine! Removed the drainage pump to feel around for blockages (all clear).[/*:m:7hsqvmnt]
The error still occurs after the above so I’m thinking the pump itself is the issue. I tested the resistance across its terminals with a multimeter and it gave a reading of 117. I couldn’t find any expected results for this model online. The only one I could find was for a “standard dishwasher drainage pump” which was 140-160. I would have thought if it was dead I would have expected it to be lower than 117 though, am I right? It also spins freely (should it?).
The metering / mixing tank on the side also looks like it’s full of spaghetti! But I think that’s unrelated (correct me if I’m wrong).
Many thanks in advance!

when the error happens is there still water in the machine ?
also have you checked the plumbing ? a lot of dishwashers connect into a sink and it can be blocked there

Thanks for your reply electrofix, good question, I normally just tell it to try again (it sometimes works on a quick wash). I’ll run it again now and come back to you.
Yep I completely dismantled all the waste pipes behind the dishwasher, all fine.

I can confirm there is water sat in the bottom of the machine when the error occurs.

well it could be a blockage
and may be the pump. not heard of these pumps failing this way. normally you go to start a programme and it aborts without filling
try operating the unit with the hose into a bucket or over the sink.
is the waist hose down a Stanchion pipe if so make sure it is only inserted the first 8 inches or so. if the pipe ends up in standing water it can cause problems

To close this topic off, the dishwasher has been working faultlessly since the first of March.
electrofix, it is in a Stanchion and I believe it was sat all the way down. I’ve used some string to hold it much higher and everything seems good!
I was too quick to jump to the pump I think.
Thank you!
