    Re: Bosch SMS 44

I posted last week when the problem appeared to be tripping out mains on rinse (No.1) cycle. Thanks Martin for your reply.

I decided that we would carry on using the washer on programmes 2,3 & 4 whilst I sorted a service visit – however the machine now trips on every cycle, about 2 seconds after the circulatory pump kicks in at the beginning of the cycle (ie: after water fill)

This now suggests a problem with the pump motor ?
    Any thoughts ?
Is a repair cost effective on this 8 year old machine ?
Presumably it’s within the realms of DIY ?

    Any opinions appreciated.

    Cheers

    Harry

Martin – thanks for the link to local engineers but no-one in my area.

No Harry no! Seriously speaking it also (with respect) is not a DIY job the rectify. My previous suggestions as to the fault still very much applies by the way. Your machine is a good quality piece of kit that, provided you have looked after it in all these years, is still worth someone fixing!

Sorry there is no-one registered on this site you can turn to, so I guess you will have to resort to the Yellow Pages for local help. “Tripping the mains” faults do require expert intervention with the proper test equipment to resolve, it is no big deal for them either, so please take that route. 🙂
