ParticipantI have a Bosch SMS5012 dishwasher that has stopped working. It seems to start up but stops during the cycle. Can anybody point me in the right direction to go to start to disgnose the problem? Maybe a user/service manual? If it helps, down the bottom of the dishwasher, where the filters are, is filled with water. Is this suppossed to be like this? Does this mean that there is an output valve or outlet blocked? Or am I totally off track? Anything else I can do to help you help me…..?
All advice welcome…
Thanks in advance….February 28, 2008 at 10:31 pm #244455gegsy

Hi
First thing I would check with this beast is the black rubber hose from the water matrix on the left to the sump (S shaped)
Remove it and thoroughly rod and clean it, re assemble and test 😀Its worth checking for broken wires in the door loom also, where the loom pivots at bottom centre of door.
Power off first before attempting any of these :plug:

….anybody help me with a manual. Would help if I had some diagrams to guide me along the way. I’ll try the above things over the weekend and see how I go….
Cheers…

Hey guys,
Thatnks for the previous advice. I pulled the washer out and removed the left side cover, as suggested. I located the black hose on the bottom of the ‘water matrix’, removed and cleaned it, and put it back together again. I powered her up and watched what happens. The water matrix seems to be working fine, with the water filling up and emptying out of the matrix just fine (so far as I can tell anyway). Problem is that once the initial cycle of water going thru the matrix a few times is complete, the washer does nothing for a while. Until she’s ready to go thru the cycle again. (Hope I’ve managed to explain it a bit better). It seems to me to be like it doesn’t go thru the ‘washing’ cycle. Seems to get the water OK, but doesn’t loo like she does anything to wash anything.Anything else I can try? Or is she cactus and ready to be replaced…?
Thanks again for all your help and advice….
Cheers…BTW, I have a few photos taken, if you think that may help. I don’t know how to attach them though. I can email them, if you think it may help in helping me….

Upload them to a web hosting site such as Photobucket, Putfile or Imageshack then copy the url into your posts.

Here is an attempt to upload the pictures I refer to above.
This is the picture of the washer’s LHS, the entire ‘matrix’ I beleive

The lower part of the ‘matrix’ showing the hose referred to above and the switch….

…and the upper part of the ‘matrix’

Wash motor faulty? :waving:
March 7, 2008 at 4:34 am #244466Gypsy
ParticipantIs there someway I can test the wash motor? How hard is it to get to? For example, do I have to put the washer on it’s side in order to get to it? How many somersaults do I have to perform? And how many Hail Mary’s would I have to say….

After the initial ‘water’ cycle, it sounds like it starts to ‘hum’ for a second or two, then seems to shut down and go quiet. If I turn the dial a little bit clockwise, the ‘water’ cycle starts up again, and the same thing happens again. When I open the door it doesn’t appear to be wet anywhere excepting the bottom of the washer….. I hope some of that makes some kind of sense to someone….
