    Motor is accessible by removing the panel on the other side. With the power off, find out if the pump can be turned easily – there should b e ssome resistance, but not actually stiff. If it turns freely, the start relay may be at fault. The fact that the motor hums breifly suggests that it is getting power.

    If the motor is stiff or not turning, it may be jammed by a foreign body or siezed due to bearing failure or stuck seals.
