Was call out as the machine was not filling.
I did get this machine going once on the rinse cycle, filled washed and empted but now I keep getting E24 “Drain filters blocked” and it will not fill.
I have checked the filters and they are clean. I did read somewhere about a “check valve” what is and where, could it be this that is stopping it from filling?
When start a program or cancel it, I can hear the drain pump running so guess that is ok.
Any help much appreciated

Always worth using the ‘search’ facility on this fault as it can be a result of many things. Just type bosch e24 to see what I mean. 😉

I always do a search before posting but as the model number SMS50E02GB/02.
There appears to be many reasons for E24 where does one start if all is clean and clear of blockages.Bernie

Well as you know then that E24 is a drain time-out and if you are certain there is nothing wrapped around the Impellor spindle or the drain outlet in the sink isn’t restricted etc etc then it’s time to check the resistance of the pump coil (82 ? ± 8 ?) Check also the heat pump resistances ? Pump cover secure? Module plug connectors?

I had one similar and changed the reed switch. Cured the problem, well I haven’t had a call back……. Yet

I have been back to this machine removed the pump and found a piece of bone in the pump and thought that was it but no E24 came up and still no fill, so tested the drain pump and wash pump via the plug on the power module 82 Ohms and 08 Ohms.
So I filled the machine with a jug and putting it on a rinse (15 min prg) it washed and when it got to 01 mins the matrix on the left side filled with water and then the machine drained out and the program finished no fault.
So I now know that the water vale is ok and both wash and drain pumps are ok.
The only item left to me is the power module.
Has anyone fitted one of these for this fault if so what part number did you use as I have found two?

Yep, stick a new reed switch in it first. I’m guessing you missed Andy’s advice there?

I think I have found it REED SWITCH/FLOWMETER part no. 611317
When I was testing the machine I did look at it and wondered if it could be that, but it did fill when I had it on the rinse program so I dismissed it as you say for £10 it worth a try.
I only have know them as flowmeter!
Thanks

Yep same thing as the impellor jug but it’s just the reed you replace

Fitting the reed switch worked.
I tried the machine on a rinse prog (15mins) which is what I had been using before, the matrix transfer tank on the left side was already full of water but got E24, then I tried Quick wash (29mins) this time all worked perfectly, the matrix transfer tank drained and the machine started to wash and heat and the time started to countdown, while it was washing the matrix transfer tank filled the after little while the machine drained and filled via the matrix transfer tank, washed and heated again for the drying cycle and just before the final drain the matrix transfer tank filled and then the prog ended.
Thank you for the suggestion,
I would not have thought for a minute that would be the fault
