Our Bosch dishwasher has recently started to randomly stop part way through its cycle (it runs overnight in our utility room). This was approximately once a week or so. Restart it in the morning and it would run through ok. I never saw a fault code on these occasions as it runs on a timer.
This morning it would not run through and kept stopping about 3 minutes after starting with an E24 fault. I have checked the drain etc. It will clear water if I put some in and start a cycle. Starts to fill, makes a noise and stops.
It’s now at least 14 years old so I am wondering if it’s time for a new one. I would rather repair if possible.

EDIT. Done a bit more investigating and it will drain just fine if I put water in it. It does not fill with water however. I have checked the fill pipe and filter-all ok. However I cannot feel the solenoid work or hear it (removed pipe and held solenoid to my ear). Also just noticed the “check water” light. Doh!

you would need to check if the unit has failed but if it has there is a low cost alternative

Had a good overall look at the dishwasher and it is very tired. Baskets are rusting under the plastic, frame around the door rusting etc. We’ve had other issues and it’s cleaning ability has steadily got less impressive.
    Bought a Miele.
