Had this basic freestanding Bosch SMS50T22GB since later 2014. It’s now begun aborting wash cycles with a flashing ‘check water’ light.
It definitely draining water from the base. Filled it up, and its promptly drained it all. Cleaned filters and checked the draining impeller spins freely.
Water is definitely going in. Have interrupted it and found it full of water.
I’ve yanked it out and tipped it every which way, a little water came out but not a huge amount. Hoses are all free from kinks.
Looking at the manual, it seems a constant ‘check water; light relates to water blockages or no water going in. The flashing ‘check water’ light it says is just a technical fault, call support…
Basically it goes through the cycle, past the initial drain, brings in fresh water, spins and cleans for ages. Then after the wash part, it’ll switch to the drying part, and which point it’ll abort and trigger the rapidly flashing ‘check water’ light. It appears the flashing ‘check water’ occurs on any cycle other than a pre-wash. My current hunch is a dodgy heating element, not heating water or drying.
Any thoughts? Economical to fix? Or just accept 5 years for £250 is about as expected?
