Bosch SMS53M02GB/D4 check water after E9 fixed

Hello all,

so I have a Bosch SMS53M02GB/D4 it started to develop an E9 fault towards the end of a cycle and then one day tripped the fuse board. I bought a replacement heat pump and swapped it out. I now put it on a cycle and the machine pumps out as normal and then stops and I get a check water light.
i tool the other side off the dishwasher and took out the reservoir as I noticed a bit of funk had built up then put it back together and again the check water light comes on.
running on different cycles produced different results as below.
Rinse – machine pumps out the full the reservoir entirely and keeps filling until full then eventually cuts out with check water.
Eco – machine pumps out then runs for about 20 minutes and then cuts out with check water lit.
normal – machine pumps out then starts to fill and cuts out with check water lit.
ive checked for leaks – there are none and checked the float switch under the machine all dry.
im thinking it could be the heat exchanger switch the little motor type solenoid as this feels very warm and doesn’t seem to be activating to let water out of the reservoir or possibly the Reed meter. I’ve noticed that there is some yellowing on the reed meter wires possible from overheating?
any suggestions would be appreciated I don’t want to keep buying parts and replacing bits that don’t need to be replaced. Thanks in advance.

Two things come to mind – was it the the correct version of heat pump as there are number of different ones for that range. Did you inadvertently swap the heat pump wires with the drain pump wires – it can be done. Did you disturb any other wires? I wouldn’t have thought your other findings mean anything but there could be a fault on the control module when the original heat pump failed…

Thanks tim so I ordered a replacement part from random spares they sent me a 9001.375.807 when my original is a 9001.180.504 I queried this they didn’t really have an answer but said that this is the part listed with Bosch and it could be an upgraded part. I did some digging and some site are saying the part I got should be for a /98 model? I’m not to sure but should I try to get the exact part?

correct pump for your model is part no 12014980

with your water light check the wiring from the reed switch back to the board. you have only got to have a badly connected plug and you will get this fault

So I have replaced the reed flow and the heat exchange outlet switch and again the programmes keep stopping. I checked the cables and couldn’t see anything obvious. Does anyone have anymore ideas I’m about to take it in the garden with a sledge hammer.

do a continuity check on the reed sw back to the board. check each cable is connected and has continuity

i assume the turbine is going round by the reed sw so if its not the turbine, the reed or the wires it has to be a board fault.

did you get the board wet when you changed the pump?
did you remove any connections and get them in the wrong place ?
