ParticipantHi
dishwasher is about 6 years old, and has just recently started to turn off mid cycle. All running ok up to that point, no error codes, it just dies.
Sometimes comes back to life a few minutes (and as much as 20) later and carries on. So you can get a full wash out of it, but takes a very long time.
Pre and quick wash cycles equally about 50:50 whether they will complete in one go or not.I’ve done all diagnosis, it’s not blocked etc. Could it be faulty PCB?
Thanks!

ParticipantHi Lokibear,
We have a Bosch dishwasher of a similar age exhibiting similar symptoms. I also suspect the PCB, but nobody seems able to tell me.
Did you find an answer?

ParticipantThanks Dave. Sockets look good, and swapping didn’t change anything.
Any idea how much a replacement PCB costs? I’m having trouble finding a source for these…

Moderatorask QER if they can repair it. does sound like a power supply chip problem
alternatively you can go to
https://www.bosch-home.co.uk/customer-service/care-protection-and-parts/spare-parts
to look for the part but you will need the last 2 digits of the model no

ParticipantHi Dave,
I’m thinking, before I spend £42.29 on the new PCB/controller module, is there any chance it’s a sensor of some sort. I observed the dishwasher more carefully last night, and it seems to hang up as it kicks into a new cycle about 2/3 through the programme (in this case the ‘speed perfect’ 50-degree wash). Some of the wash water is drained, then it hangs up at :37 remaining. I looked, and there was still hot soapy water at the bottom. The machine then goes off for a few minutes, then wakes up and tries to do something (sounds like a pump), then goes back to sleep. After a few of these cycles all the water was drained, but it keeps up the sleep-wake cycle (with many minutes sleeping, LED off) for a long time (>1-2 hours).
Does this still sound like a PCB, or should I look elsewhere?
Thanks!

Moderatorstill sounds like a pcb but you may have looked up the wrong one
I cant say for certain but it sounds more like a power board failure and you wont get that for £43

ParticipantThanks Dave.
It seems the “control module” is £43 and the “power module” is £116 (on the Bosch site). Seems like the power module is far more difficult to access.
Do you know if it’s possible to DIY re-programme one of these power modules? Somebody has one (from a different machine, but the same module) for £30 on Ebay.
With these spare parts prices, it’s no wonder people just toss their old machines and buy a new one!
Thanks again,
Odilon

Moderatorboards can only be programmed by the manufacturer as you need special equipment
did you as QER ?
http://www.qer.biz/servReps.htm
they may be able to test the board, in fact you may be able to send both board and they may be able to check them as a pair
