Our SMS6032 dishwasher fills but then won’t start. The inlet valve solenoid continues to buzz. Pressing other option settings will usually get the controller and circulation going. How does the control timer get the signal to start when the fill is complete?
Any help would be very much appreciated.

    Hi
Almost certainly a blocked metering hose running from l/h tank to sump base. Can also be a sensitive aquastop unit but not as often as the gunged metering hose.

Thanks Greg for the very useful advice. As you predicted the metering hose was partially blocked. The float assembly and microswitch were also sticking.
Cleaned everything and now seems to be running fine.

    Hi
Glad to be of assistance, for your info I have found exchanging the hose is a far better repair as it tends to gunge up quicker due to remnants.
Hose is only approx £5 if you want p/no and correct price let me know.

    Hi Greg

Seems a good idea to replace the hose as there’s life in the machine yet.
Thought I might change the inlet valve whilst about it as the solenoid can be noisy.
    Part numbers would be useful.
    Thanks.
