thought it was one of the later ones but had to check
the way bosch detects if the unit is empty is to monitor the pump current. so the pump draws less current when empty. as the pump wears it starts to bind and gives the timer false signals
first thing i would do is replace the pump part no 00611332 and see if things go ok from there

To be honest , intermittent e:24 is such a pain in the backside. Whilst it can mainly point towards slow draining , it can be a blocked drain hose/sink connection, stuck non-return valve , drain pump access cover loose , faulty/blocked drain pump or failing/blocked heat pump . It can sometimes be difficult to diagnose especially when it doesn’t occur when you’re there. Sorry I can’t be more specific but the error code has too many possibilities to pinpoint it exactly without examining or testing the machine personally.

totally agree I have seen some posts where a new pump hasnt cured it.
It seems strange that it runs for 4 or 5 minutes before E24 comes up.
detecting pump current seems an unusual way of doing things.April 15, 2014 at 8:59 pm #411508suedehead1

I had a customer ring who had been managing an e24 on this machine for a while. She managed the fault by opening & closing the door when e24 appeared. (This was after a few minutes, whether she pushed start again I don’t know), I gave a few prices and never heard anymore from her.
