Bosch SMS6502GB/06 not draining

Hi all,

We recently got hold of a 2nd hand Bosch SMS6502GB/06 from Freecycle, and have been using it with no problems for 4 months. However, it no longer drains. We’ve had a pretty good look for blockages in the sump, and also in the part that houses the propellor. The drainage tube and trap do not appear to be blocked either. If we make sure that the drainage tube runs downhill (our kitchen slopes a lot, so we can do this!), then it drains fine.

I’m guessing this means the pump is faulty, but I would be grateful if anybody thinks we are missing anything obvious (and easily fixable).

It sure does sound like a faulty drain pump.
These are accessable from the front behind the lower panel.
Can be a fiddle to change for the first time but with patience, is conquerable. Make sure you un plug appliance first before you attempt any repair/investigation.

Pump is available from spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk and is p/no 096355 app £40- £50 + the usual.
