ParticipantHi all
First post on this forum!I have a Bosch SMS69M18AU/44 dishwasher that we inherited with our current flat.
Recently, it’s started powering-off at intervals in the cycle. The cycle stops, and the display goes blank. It will then “rest” for a while (10-20 minutes?) before starting-up where it left off. It will do it several times in a 2:30hr regular cycle, but the only pattern I’ve noticed is that it always does it about 20 mins from the end.
Things I have checked (with the machine unplugged – obviously):
It’s not tripping any of the domestic power circuits
It’s not the individual power socket (I have tried several)
I have cleaned the filter and the pump
I have checked/cleaned the in-hose water filter
I have checked the door latch (seems to be ok)
I have taken the toe-panel off and checked underneath for a leak – it’s looking clean and dry.The machine seems in really good condition – no leaks, drips or obvious electrical shorts etc. I would love to repair it if economical to do so.
From my reading, it seems that it’s most likely to be the ECU or the control panel – would you agree? Unfortunately I think that this probably puts it outside economical repair.
Is there anything else worth checking before going an buying a new one?
I was wondering if it could be a faulty power connection in the back of the machine (don’t these things have a capacitor that’s prone to failure)? Or might it be overheating (or think it is) before cutting out? This could explain why it comes back on again after a while – so I was wondering about the thermistor?Your thoughts and advice would be gratefully received!

Have you tried the mains plug (kettle type) that mains lead plugs in at the back?

Gah! Thought that had fixed it!
Seems to be a non-standard connector, so I made sure it was plugged in firmly.
Ran a 35 min quick cycle – it switched off 4 mins from the end, paused for 10 mins, then came back on.
Worth me buying a replacement cable? Could it be the power connectors/pins on the back of the unit? Any other ideas?
